WIDOW MAKER – The Details & First Art

Hawkeye vs Ronin?!

Hawkeye vs Ronin?!

As announced last night, a crossover event is coming starring HAWKEYE & MOCKINGBIRD and BLACK WIDOW brought to you by myself & Duane Swierczynski.  This has it all- fighting for their lives, racing around the world, uncomfortable team-ups, secrets and lies, and a new villain in a familiar suit coming back to haunt them.  So, what is WIDOW MAKER?

Find out after the jump

The 4 part event is something we’ve been building to for some time between Black Widow and Hawkeye & Mockingbird.  Not only is it an organic crossover, it’s one that has large-scale ramifications on both books.  Duane Swierczynski and I have plotted a tight story that weaves in and out of our titles.  The breakdown is below:

Part 1- HAWKEYE & MOCKINGBIRD #7 (Dec)
Part 2 – BLACK WIDOW #9 (Dec)
Part 3 – HAWKEYE & MOCKINGBIRD #8 (Jan)
Part 4 – BLACK WIDOW #10 (Jan)

I’m really excited since this is my first crossover.  I grew up loving it when two books would cross over into each other because it was not only exciting but it also introduced me to new characters.  It’s been fun getting to see what Duane has planned leading up to WIDOW MAKER and sharing with him what happens in my arc GHOSTS running through HAWKEYE & MOCKINGBIRD right now.

There is more info given in interviews with Duane & I at the following sites (I’ll update as more come in)

I can’t stress enough how much this will really effect what’s to come after, so make sure you start reading HAWKEYE & MOCKINGBIRD and BLACK WIDOW, because we’re shaking things up in big ways.  And best of all?  This is only the beginning!  What comes after WIDOW MAKER (and because of WIDOW MAKER) is something that will keep you guessing and coming back month after month!

What is Widow Maker?! It’s going to be one of the best crossovers ever and would be an easy adaption into a feature! I’m so excited! But first, gotta read Ghosts through…so compelling!
